College Athletes should be paid or not?

Colleges should pay their college athletes for every service they give. Colleges should view their athletes as their college employees, because while studying and paying attention to their academics, they also give so many hours to college sports activities. It has seen that colleges use the names of athletes to generate different funds and revenues for the college. They collect this revenue through college athletes by managing sales on tickets, jerseys and video games. EA Sports is a big name in video games and they pay money to many colleges for using their college athletes in EA sports video games. Who can imagine that you work for several hours of the week for an organization or company and generate million dollar revenue, but you don’t get a single penny at the end. But the reality is that this is what college athletes do for their colleges. One example is NCAA; the college gets hundreds of million dollars through their athletes in a year and even then athletes get nothing in return. Colleges treat their athletes just like other normal students of the college. The thing is that athletes are giving their time to college, that’s why they don’t have time to earn money by doing any other jobs, so they should be able to make money through athletics. But if an athlete sells his memorabilia or autographs to his fan, college troubles him by suspending him from his sports activities. Other students make money by doing jobs, so it is college athletes right to earn or make money for themselves like others. They give their precious time to their colleges, generate huge amount of revenue for colleges, but this is extremely unfair to them that they don’t get anything in reward. So, it is clear that Colleges should pay their college athletes for every single service they provide.
