The selected franchise is Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut began in 1958, when two brothers, Dan and Frank Carney borrowed $600 from their mother. At that time of the original Pizza Hut there was 25 seats at Wichita State University. When making the sign for the restaurant the boys only had enough room for nine letters and because they made pizza's they wanted pizza in the name, so that only left 3 letters and because the restaurant looked like a hut they named it Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut is the world's largest pizza restaurant chain and is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc., whose restaurants total roughly 34,000 restaurants and more than 5,139 store locations in 94 other countries and territories around the world. Yum! Brands, Inc., based in Louisville, Kentucky and is ranked number 201 on the Fortune 500 List with revenues of over $13 billion in 2012 and in 2013 was named among the top 100 Corporate Citizens by Corporate Responsibility Magazine. The entire history of Pizza Hut has been accomplished through innovation, but the history of Pizza Hut truly took off with conjunction of the Pepsi Company and more insistent selling methods mainly in the take out market.

The first franchise was opened in 1959 in Topeka, Kansas. In 1977, Pizza Hut was acquired by PepsiCo. Pizza Hut is divided into many different restaurant formats; the original family-style dine-in locations; store front delivery and carry-out locations; and hybrid locations that offer carry-out, delivery, and dine-in options. Many full-size Pizza Hut locations offer lunch buffet, with "all-you-can-eat" pizza, salad, bread sticks, and a special pasta. There are Pizza Hut restaurants that are sometimes connected in a location where they share space with other trademark such as WingStreet, KFC or Taco Bell. Pizza Hut is an American restaurant chain and international franchise that presents various types of pizza along with salad, pasta, buffalo wings, breadsticks, garlic bread and desserts (www.pizzahut.com).

The SBA is a government organization created to help small business development and entrepreneurism. They can assist in providing by either assuring loans and/or making them. The Small Business Administration not only helps with potential loans and grants but they can educate others on how to start and manage a business, counsel and provide free training to business owners and future business owners (http://sba.gov).
