1.0 Abstract
In our contemporary society, employees in the world have been influenced radically to economic uncertainty. Therefore, there are three major trends in the change in internal labour force and external labour market, including an aging workforce, a diverse workforce and skills deficiencies of the workforce.
The following report will discuss the concepts about one of the trends that diverse workforce affected the organisation. Moreover, briefly two advantages of diverse workforce important to the organisation and two disadvantages that impact of the community. What’s more, highlight the evaluation on the strategies can implement to overcome the problems that organisation may have challenges in its development. It is imperative to have the best options and manage to employees in order to remain the organisation competitive.
2.0 Introduction
While diverse workforce is one of the factors change in the labour force refers to the variety of differences between people in an organisation that encompasses racial and ethnic minorities, immigrants, gender, age, personality, cognitive style, expectations and values, organizational function, education, background and more.
For example, Singapore’s workforce is inherently diverse due to our multi-racial community. Our changing demographic profile, the presence of more women in the workplace and globalisation has also increased the diversity of our workforce. Employees from different generations, gender, nationalities and cultures often work together in the same organisation. (Singapore Government, 2012).
