Introduction
Studying operations management is necessary for all especially business students since business students are more likely to be the one managing an entity. With the proper knowledge about operations management, it expands the manager’s view in the given situation, thus giving the enterprise a competitive advantage. Having knowledge about operations management also gives the highest level of efficiency possible within the firm. Operations management for service type of business is harder to manage compared to manufacturing since service is something that you can only give on the spot. Service is something that cannot be put as an inventory that is ready to be given if the customer asked for it and service provider needs to travel in order to render services outside the location while manufacturing products can be pre-made and store inventories. Products can also be shipped from one location to another. Drive-through service has been a thing for a while. It started in 1947 from a restaurant in Missouri. In today’s time, drive-through services are everywhere. Fast foods like McDonalds and Jollibee and coffee places like Starbuck’s offers drive-through services.
II. Body
Grocery store is one of the necessities in everyone’s life since it contains most of the needs a person requires to live. Food, clothing and household items are found in a grocery. Grocery shopping in the Philippines usually takes thirty minutes to an hour for the shopping itself then another because of the long queues. Although there are online grocery services nowadays, it is still different from going to the supermarkets to shop for groceries. The feeling of being able to go through aisles to look for something that you didn’t know that you need, seeing the actual product before buying, seeing all the possible substitutes if ever the product is not
available. What we can do to make grocery shopping efficient at the same time have the same feeling of the traditional grocery shopping is to introduce the idea of drive-through supermarkets. By introducing the drive-through supermarket, it doesn’t only cut the time of long queues but also eliminates the cost of parking the car.

The grocery consists of the food packaged in cans, bottles or boxes, drinks and condiments. Personal care also includes toiletries. Household supplies include bleach, laundry detergent and other cleaning solutions. Meat/poultry also includes seafood. The black box at the end of the aisle is the cashier. The green one beside the cashier is for those products that customers didn’t thought of buying but in reality they do need to buy it.
