  1. INTRODUCTION

        Genting Group, the investment and management holding company is one of the best-managed multinationals company in Malaysia. The main focus of the assignment is to analyse the external environment of Genting Group in Malaysia. The structure of this assignment is separated into eight parts, which are introduction, company background, country background, PESTEL analysis, porter’s 5 forces, strategic recommendations, conclusion and lastly reference list.

  1. COMPANY’S BACKGROUND

        Genting group is one of the Asia’s leading multinationals corporation on owning the hospitality and tourism company. With the combination of professional leadership and business tactical, Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong aimed for people’s dream and future in this highly demanding world. He is the founder of Genting group, a great leaders with many business and entrepreneur awards. Besides, many contribution he has made to the country as well as regularly donation to the educational and medical institutions, old folk’s home and various organisation related to charity.

  1. COUNTRY’S BACKGROUND

        Malaysia is the tropical paradise with the natural beauty, various of cultures and rich of historic and cultural heritages. It is made up of Peninsula Malaysia and two states of Sabah and Sarawak on the northern coast of Borneo. The official state of the religion is Islam which plays a significant role in all aspects of the society in Malaysia. According to the Islamic Sharia courts, Muslims are strictly under Islam laws while allowing others to practice freedomly. Malaysia was once the best economic growth in Asia, with the growing of 6.5 per cent GDP annually from 1957 to 2005. The economic was one of the most competitive but is on declining role through economic activities after 2005.
