Industry Competitors:
There is a total of fifteen fitness clubs within the area of Kitchener and Waterloo but the four major competitors are two YMCA’s, Popeye’s Gym and The International Family Fitness Centre. Compared to the competitors, GoodLife has been doing much better than them. GoodLife has offered cheap price for good service and for more equipment. Since there are a lot of problems, Krista has taken care of them by dealing with the complaints immediately. (i.e. A particular staff member was not friendly to the customer). Since Krista has hired two highly trained employees to take care of the front desk in order to greet customers nicely, it could be a reason why GoodLife is doing better than its competitors. It has been said that the fitness market is growing at approximately 6 percent a year which is fabulous. GoodLife can be at the number one among its competitors by expanding their fitness club. For example, since the two YMCA’s offer aerobic programs, have workout areas and have a good reputation as being friendly, GoodLife can offer these features in order to be outstanding. Another thing GoodLife can do is have over 60 different programs running a week similar to The International Family Fitness so the customers will want to come to GoodLife rather than The International Family Fitness.

There is different work out environments available to everyone which can make it difficult for GoodLife to target the market. Some different types of fitness settings are home gyms, alternative fitness classes such as hot yoga, community centers with free classes or outside exercise options.
