I am heading sales team in North & West region, few concepts of motivation & Job satisfaction that I studied & applies to my own work group are,

1. Culture : Our average sales team age is 28 years, this means I am dealing with a young & enthusiastic professionals. I joined this company @ 7 years back & I realizes that its very difficult to handle young team, though team is putting their 100% toward work, but sometime get emotional easily.

To handle such people, you must have working culture in such a way that everyone in the team should feel that they are the owner for their working areas. We designed our working culture accordingly, we cut down the layers, my engineer in the team has full authority to close a deal without consulting to his immediate boss. Also we don’t believe in daily reporting, my each team member can plan his day based on his priority (Only he need to inform his boss once in the morning about his daily schedule).

Also we arrange lot to extracurricular activities such as Cricket tournaments, outstation sales meet, celebration on big deal closed etc.

2. Reward Systems : Employees want to be involved in the company, and they want to feel like they are moving up in the company structure & hence Reward Systems are very important.

We have reward system which consists of three elements, financial compensation, employee benefits and non-financial rewards, such as recognition.

Under Financial compensation, we have awards like Best employee of the year, star performer in different areas (total 10 awards every year) etc. In these particular awards systems give handsome cash prices every year.

Under Employee benefits, after reaching to particular grade we provide facility like Car, Leave encashment, Leave travel allowance, Special Diwali bonus etc.
