Since Audrey will be the sole owner of the company, she will decide on the actual requirements of her staff.
In year 3, when she will open her own atelier in Little Italy on boulevard Saint-Laurent, the key employees that she will need at start up following her expansion are a receptionist, a seamstress and a pattern maker.
For the receptionist, she will be employed full time since her job will consist of answering general inquiries, take messages, greet persons entering the premises, schedule and book all consultations and fit appointments for clients all the way to the last fit, by maintaining it diary manually or electronically, and keep the reception area clean.
For the seamstress, she will be employed part time based on sales projections. Audrey requires the seamstress to have a minimum of 10 years of experience working with high-quality fabrics. The job would consist of fitting the garments into the dresses and measure them, cutting and sewing fabrics using needles, thread and sewing machines in order to properly adjust the dress to the clients' desire. She would also need to make corrections and alterations to the gown.
As for the pattern maker, she would have the same employment as the seamstress since they both work hand in hand as well as with the designer which, in this case is Audrey. Audrey requires that her pattern maker have a minimum work experience of 5 years. The pattern maker would have to convert Audrey's design into the fabric. Basically, taking the designer's original make of the garment and separate the fabric into sections so that they can be laid out on a length of fabric. Audrey will be designing by hand; therefore, the pattern maker will draw the fabric layouts, compute the dimensions of patterns and create a paper pattern of the design.
