Operational Plan for McDonald’s
(Essay)
The organization we decided to focus on for this essay is the well known company of McDonalds. In other words one of the biggest food selling franchises in the world. Another key thing to be taken in consideration is the fact that the company itself has more than 75 years of active service keeping in mind that it originated as a small family barbecue which was ran and operated by only two people. That said it is just amazing how far hard work and business ambition can take you when you are willing to put all your work and efforts into preparing food and keeping the customers happy, satisfied and providing them with top notch service. Every day millions of people visit the well known restaurants and most importantly they do come back for more. Provided that we are talking about one of the best existing and successful companies worldwide we are going to delve into the work model, challenges and objectives that McDonalds are aiming towards.
In the beginning there was light… or in our case the light was the headlight of a small locomotive which was trying to get out of the tunnel and make its way to international fame for its hamburgers. Of course this is a figurative speech considering the birth of the company which is making much more than 68 million dollars every day. The mission statement of the company is:
“ To be our customers favorite place and way to eat and drink. “ McDonald’s worldwide operations are aligned around a global strategy called the Plan to Win, which center on an exceptional customer experience – People, Products, Place, Price and Promotion. They are committed to continuously improving their operations and enhancing their customers’ experience’. The corner stone of the company is its clients which are the reason for its existence in the first place and that is a pretty good reason for providing them with high quality food and superior service in a clean welcoming environment, at a great value. Said in simple words the customer must be offered at all times the best quality, service, cleanliness and value, each and every time.
In the cases such as this one, a customer satisfaction is a number one priority and winning method of approach is a must. It must be taken in consideration that different people from different countries have different taste and a product that is successful in one place may flop in a terrible fashion in another. That is why McDonalds also incorporates geographic strategic plans. For example: the United States market plan which includes focus on breakfast, chicken, beverage and convenience which are the core areas in the US. The company has launched Southern style chicken biscuit for breakfast and Southern style chicken sandwich for lunch and dinner. Especially for the US market McDonalds introduced a new hot specialty coffee offerings on a market –by-market basis.
