SpartanNash is a fortune 500 company geared to supply the company’s shareholders, suppliers and customers satisfaction of products sold. The company’s mission is “To leverage our expertise in food distribution and retail to develop, activate and provide impactful solutions that exceed expectations for associates, customers and partners.” ("SpartanNash | Our Core Values Build a Winning Culture," 2015). There vision is clear cut where they want to be the best of the best and nothing less. They have supermarkets, distribution centers for food and the military. The company of SpartanNash, have career opportunities throughout the country along with being a supplier along with a private sector.
The SpartanNash company goals are strategically to “maximize growth opportunity across the country” ("SpartanNash | Our Core Values Build a Winning Culture," 2015). They plan on growing the company through the retail and grocery distributions sites. When they do this the opportunity of more stores being acquisitioned is greater in the effort of growing the company brand throughout the country. While doing the growth of the stores and distribution site they are also looking more at being socially responsible to the environment with making sure the products they sell are safe.
SpartanNash is making sure the products are not contaminated in any way, and if so, they can put the product in an environmentally safe container. They promote green day and donate to Good Will, along with having community involvement throughout the country.
The stakeholders whether they are internal or external are a part of the decision making also. They have input on where they want their money to go and fund what projects lay ahead. SpartanNash’s “sound principles of corporate governance are key to obtaining and maintaining trust and creating an environment of respect for all investors, associates, retail customers and vendor partners.” They send shareholders letters to inform them of the happenings of the company and where the money you invest goes. They also want to make sure that when you invest you are investing in the future of SpartanNash and yourself.
