For my introduction to the strategic management report I have decided to look at fruit of the Loom. Fruit of the Loom is a global clothes manufacturer which provides companies with varieties of clothes for men, woman and children.
Who started the company?
Fruit of the Loom was founded by Robert Knight in 1851 in Rhode Island USA. Robert Knight produced and sold clothes from his textile mill. He later arranged for friend Rufus Skeel to sell his clothes from Skeel’s small shop in Rhode Island. Knight created the company name, and after seeing Skeel’s daughter painting pictures of fruit, he applied the pictures to create the companies famous fruit logo.

Fruit of the Loom is an American clothes manufacturer based in bowling Green, Kentucky, USA. The companies aim is to have their products in everyones drawers. The company is owned by Berkshire Hathaway which bought the company for $835 Million in 2002. Fruit of the Looms products include underwear, printable T-shirts fleeces, activewear, casualwear, jeans, and children’s clothes.
