Depending on which court the case resides in, a statistical inference can be made as to the probability of whether a case is likely to be seen in appeals court and the probability of it being reversed. The specific judge appointed to the case, can also bear further insight as to the same probability analysis. As court hearings can be costly due to attorney fees, it would be important to note the likelihood of the convictions ultimately being reversed before enduring a long process.

As one would assume the type of court that a case was disposed in, will correlate to the rate at which cases are appealed and furthermore, reversed. It is more likely, about a 4% chance that a case could be appealed in Common Pleas Court and a 0.4% chance of the case being reversed. About 0.3% of an appeal and 0.5% chance of reversal in Domestic Relations Court. Lastly, at an overall look, it appears next to impossible to get a case appealed in municipal court; at a probability of 0.4% and 0.15% for a reversal.

At first glance, one would think that their chances of getting their case to be moved through an appeals court and a reversal is nearly unattainable. However, when the judges are analyzed independently, ones chances increase greatly. In Common Pleas Court, most judges vary between 2-6% probabilities of getting a case appealed. This is at a greater rate when compared to the other courts but although a case is appealed, the chances of getting a reversal in this court with an appeal are relatively low in comparison to the amount of cases seen for an appeal (11%). Judge Ney had the low of 1.12% for reversals, if an appeal was granted but held consistent with the other judges in the rate at which cases were seen initially for an appeal, at 3.883%. Judge Sundermann was ranked as number one because there was a 6.283% probability of getting an appeal and 16.667% of those cases resulted in a reversal. The rest of the judges are ranked by overall likelihood of them upholding an appeal and ultimately a reversal.
