Germany trade regulations
The relations between the Netherlands and Germany are outstanding. They hold close relations on political, economic, social, cultural, administrative and personal levels. Germany is by far the most important trade partner for the Netherlands for both import and export. The project group took several factors into consideration why the product could connect with the German market. Germany ranks third place in beer consumption and the net income per person and the average net income per person is €2000 per month. Because Germany and the Netherlands are part of the EU, there are no trade quantity limitations in effect.
Import Rules and regulations.
Some EU member states still control the list of goods that require import licensing and Germany is amongst these countries.
Germany’s Einfuhrliste summarizes these products with the product codes, the applicable restrictions and the agency that issues the relevant license. Furthermore, this import list states whether the license is required under German or EU law (Germany - Import Requirements, 2016). The Electronic parts of the MiniBrew are not stated in the Einfurhliste, but the organic substances such as hop, grains and other ingredients can be imported from other EU member states without restrictions, if the proper proof of quality is assured (Merkblatt über gewerbliche Wareneinfuhren, sd).
Import Developments
Because Germany is part of the EU, import developments are mostly established within the European Parliament. Still, some changes like certain components of the import list, remain in control of the member states. Therefor it remains important to observe Germany’s domestic political climate.
In 2017, Germany will hold its federal elections and the opinion polls show that the CDU and SPD are going head to head with CDU receiving 33 seats and SPD 32 seats in the Bundestag. (Sonntagsfrage Bundestagswahl, 2017)
