What promotional activities might Prince use to reach the following segments: (a) recreational players and (b) junior players?
What might Prince do to help it gain distribution and sales in (a) mass merchandisers like Target and Wal-Mart and (b) specialty tennis shops?
For recreational players, Prince can describe to this particular market the different types of racquets that they have to offer. For instance, they offer both large and small headed racquets, with the small headed racquets delivering excellent control with easy maneuverable, and their large headed racquets offering a combination of power, control, and comfort, satisfying every tennis player’s needs (Prince, 2012). I think advertising different activities in sporting goods stores such as local amateur tennis tournaments, or instructions on stringing racquets would be advantageous to this target market.
For junior players, Prince can offer after school or summer tennis lessons, and also sponsor and host junior tennis tournaments, or even offer sponsorship to junior players. Furthermore, junior players generally need a smaller, lighter racquet, and Prince should bring light to the fact that they offer several junior racquets as well as other accessories like shoes and an apparel line at sporting goods stores, their website, and also at larger retail markets like Wal-Mart (Kerin, 2013, p. 192).
Prince advertises for larger retail chains like Wal-Mart and Target by contributing to co-op advertising for in store circulars, point of purchase displays, advertising signs in the sporting goods section, and also aid in the placement and layout of their products in the tennis section of these retailers (Kerin, 2013, p. 192).
