Lincoln memorial park

 The Lincoln memorial park is situated in Washington DC, at the end of the southern public shopping mall. The memorial was set up in memory of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of America, an honor bestowed to him to recognize the efforts he put up in pursuit of a united America. The civil war fought a t the beginning of the 17th century ha d threatened to tear America apart, with some states threatening to secede from the union. In his dream of a united America, Abraham Lincoln proclaimed war against the civil war, a war that cost America many lives and resources but at the end of the day, the sovereignty of the state was maintained.

Detailed description of the memorial.

 The memorial as described in paragraph one, is located at the west park of the southern public mall in Washington dc, plans to build the memorial had been discussed in congress, with the option receiving numerous backup. Prior to this the congress had sought to allocate funds to the setting up a heroes park, a park in hic, Americans of great deeds such as the late George Washington, God rest his soul in peace, Roosevelt and henry ford. This plans were later halted 4in favor of the Lincoln memorial which was seen as much better idea as compared to the previous one, since it was agreed that it was had to determine the exact people to be buried at the hero’s corner. Thus the plans went ahead and an architect was sought to spearhead the progress. The city choose Henry Bacon and Daniel Chester. Henry was in charge of the outward design while Chester was to deal with inner design. Henry planned to give the statue a Greek god look, though the plan was opposed strongly at the onset, he was later given a go ahead to continue with the project.
