Describe the nature of operations management in the following organizations. In doing this, first identify the outputs of the organization and then use the four decision types to identify important operations decisions and responsibilities.

a. A college library

b. A hotel

c. A small manufacturing firm

A College Library

Output: Public service, to provide information and resources available to students and faculty. Such as facilitating goods: internet, books, catalogs and references.

Process: First, the layout of the library facility have to be arrange in a way that is easy to maneuver around. Second, the products should be arrange in sections depending on their emphasis, example: fictions, non-fiction, reference, historical…etc. Third, determining the equipment’s needed to be of use toe students and staff.

Quality: making sure that resources and materials are relevant and up to date. Having staff that are available and knowledgeable to assist in the library and are able to answer basic questions. Having a clean area where books are arranged in an easy to find place and emphasis on their subject; ex, fiction, historical, non-fictions, reference, business...etc.

Capacity: the college library services and materials demand affects how much the shelves can carry. The number of librarians, and employees.

Inventory: To make sure the books, magazines, reference, computers, encyclopedias meet the demands of students and faculty.

Impact: this impact me because I use my college library. My career goals expect me to study well and know about the world as I want focus on international business. HWhen I do homework I expect the library to have
