Executive Summary

Matt’s Mowing and Landscaping, LLC, is a residential and small business lawn care and snow removal business looking to buy-out clients of Gehret Nursery in Minster, Ohio. The business offers one-time and contracted lawn care, landscaping, and snow-removal services. The company will focus on exceptional customer service and creative design to satisfy their customers’ needs.

The owner of a local business, Gehret Nursery, is looking to sell the landscaping sector of his business so that he can concentrate on his tree nursery. The acquisition of his clients would give Matt’s Mowing and Landscaping, LLC approximately 50 residential customers and 15 small businesses. All of these customers are under a yearly yard maintenance and snow removal contract.

The ownerwill also manage the business. He has over 3 years of landscaping and lawn care experience. He recently finished his term with the United States Navy where he obtained management and sales experience. Matthew will complete most of the business’ labor with occasional labor from area high school age kids in the summer.

Matt’s Mowing and Landscaping, LLC will be run from a leased building. The building has a small office, an attached garage for the storage of trucks, equipment, and supplies, and a large lot for storage of trees, scrubs, and other plants.

The company is seeking $20,000 in financing to contribute to the owner’s $30,000 investment to get the company operating and generating income.

Industry Analysis

Landscaping is a business that has to deal with the slumps in the economy but as the economy begins to recover, the industry should see a lot of room for growth. As companies and families have additional disposable income, they will return to outsourcing lawn care. In addition, new construction will create a need for landscaping design projects.
