Assignment 3
In this essay, I will explain the three ground rules that our group members were brainstorming in the MCW class. First of all, we discovered that members in our group reply the message quite late when someone asking a question in the line group chat. Sometimes members have read the text, but they did not reply at all. Therefore, the first rule that our group decided on three ground rules is “ whenever someone texting into the group chats either informing or asking the question, everyone must reply the message as soon as possible” The second rule is “Trying to end up the meeting within 95 minutes.” In order that each member has other duty to do and to avoid wasting the team’s time. And finally, the third rule is related to the last one “After we finish the meeting and work, make sure that member has submit the work in front of the group members.” We decided to make this rule because of the last meeting, we had a miscommunication on submitting the project. We almost marked late for the assignment. Having this rule would be more helpful for not being late submitting project.
Finally, Specific actions that I would take as a group member to get each of these ground rules fulfilled in this Multicultural Cooperative Workshop class is trying to follow the rule strictly. I’ll be replying every message as fast as I could, participating in every activity, and try doing things my best for my and other members benefit.

Assignment 3
- If I were a Student A, I would feel a bit disappointed for B student. In my opinion, I would have thought that B student does not want to work with anyone in the group. Because B student always stays quiet and does not share her opinion while everyone is express and share their ideas about the project. B student may not want to participate in any of assignment or she might have no responsibility in a work at all.
- On the other hand, I would feel that A student is a fantastic person if I were a B student. I might be a little bit jealous of him that he has the capability to express her opinion freely and able to cooperate with others member pretty well. I would feel that A student is a good leadership that could do a good job at leading and motivating everyone to get on their work.
- The reason that A student acting like this because A student put a lot of effort on their group work while other members in his group not doing the work that they assigned. So that is why he faced through the problem of doing all of the assignment by himself. For B student’s situation, It could tell that she somehow taking responsibility by neither come to the class late nor absent for classes. However, because B is a domestic student who not able to speak English fluently. So, the language barrier is a big problem for her to work and communicate with an international. Therefore, she could not say her opinion in discussion efficiently.
- The good and bad influences that A student have on a group are his leadership skills that made members rely on his discretion, yet he could not afford all of the work alone. Unless everyone in the group would take an advantage from him. For B student, good influences that she have on the group is that she never miss the group meeting. Bad influences is that A student work harder than her because she can not speak her ideas freely.
- Two of the student should be trying to adjust themselves to the situation. I personally think that communication is the most important thing for group working. A student should have a communication with his friends about summiting their assignment instead of doing all of the assignment by himself. In order to proceed the group works smoothly, B student should have talked to the international about her lack of communication in English and she should have tried her best speaking and expressing her opinion in English to let others know that she is not a kind of person that does not care about the assignment. In fact, she just confident in her English skill.
- If I were a member of the group, I think that I should intervene by engaging everyone to keep on working on the part that they got assigned and asking for their opinion about which part of an assignment that they are willing to do. Listen to every member's opinion and make sure that members are happy with their work. Finally, speaking both English and Japanese as much as I can so that both International and the Domestic student could understand correctly and avoiding misunderstood by language struggle.
