Norwegian Cruise Line Honors Avoya Travel with Top Award
Avoya Travel/American Express, one of the biggest travel companies in North America, announced that Norwegian Cruise Line has named Avoya Travel its Home-Based Agency of the Year for 2011. The travel compnay received the cruise line’s highest agency honor for the company’s dedication to customer service and outstanding sales performance in 2011. This year is the third time Avoya Travel has received this award from NCL, previously receiving it in 2007 and 2006. Andy Stuart, Executive Vice President, Global Sales and Passenger Servicves for NCL said “ Avoya Travel is a valued partner of Norwegian Cruise Line and, as such, we commend them for creating exceptional vacation experiences for customer worldwide”. He also said that Avoya Travel’s support of NCL is a core element of NCL’s success.
Norwegian Cruise Line Reports Results for Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2011
In February 2012, Norwegian Cruise Line reported results for the quarter and year ended December 31, 2011. NCL announced their growth in the top line, operating enhancements, and improved bottom line results. Operating income increased 37.1% to $316.1 million from $230.6 million in 2010. Net revenue increased 10.8% primarily due to the addition of Norwegian Epic to the fleet in June 2010 along with a 3.0% increase in Net Yield. President and chief executive officer of NCL, Kevin Sheehan says "Looking at 2011, I am pleased to report it was another year of great results. In addition to the impressive financial results for the year, our guest satisfaction scores reached new highs, confirming that our initiatives to continue to improve the vacation experience are resonating with our guests".
