Question 1:
Imagine that you are an outside consultant brought in to advise the Managing Director:
A) What are the key issues he needs to address and resolve?
The key issue is the lack of customers, this can be resolved by charging less and speeding up the delivery time.
• Charging less can be done by cutting cost, this will be partially done when the delivery time is faster.
• The delivery time can be quicker when:
• The repeat orders are not going through design, but straight to printing
• Train printing employees so that they also can work as designers, as printing has less to do and design has too much to do and design takes the longest time.
• In the long-term the printing machines can be replaced by new ones, as this also reduces time.
B) What are the main steps he need to take to agree and implement a solution?
The main steps are:
• Having a meeting with every individual manager, asking him what he thinks the main problem is.
• Walking and watch around within the company, interviewing people what work they do, how long it will take etc.

• Have a meeting with all the managers where you present the solution and explaining thing when there is something unclear.
C) What obstacles might he expect to encounter and how might he overcome
