1. Organizational behavior is a science built on the foundation of a number of older academic and applied fields. What are some of these fields and what are their unique contributions to organizational behavior? Be complete in your response and include, at a minimum, five contributing fields.

Personality has contributed to define different personality and classification.

Anthropology has contributed to an understanding of organizational culture, organizational environments, and differences between national cultures.

Training can teach person skills and experience.

Leadership will help people to learn obedience. And make a decision at short time.

Needs is good way to explain why people do so much. Not just meet the current situation

Strength of Organization Behavior is its ability to help us combine these disciplines to analyze what’s different between individual and group.

2. Describe the process by which stereotypes are formed and maintained. Can people decrease their use of stereotypes? Explain.

Stereotypes formed by categorizing people into group according to various criteria. Next, we infer that all people within a particular category possess the same traits or characteristics. Then, we form expectations of others and interpret their behavior according to our stereotypes.

Overestimating the frequency of stereotypic behaviors exhibited by others, incorrectly explaining expected and unexpected behaviors, and differentiating minority individuals from oneself maintain stereotypes.

Putting oneself in another's shoes and considering multiple perspectives.

If you have experiences that walking along on the street at night. A black man was walking behind you. You will think that he will rob you or do some thing bad to you. It’s unfair to the black man. You should think in his way. How is your feeling about some one thinks that of you? It’s really bad! So just put yourself in another’s shoes.

3. Distinguish between self-esteem and self-efficacy. Is one more important for business success? Explain.

Self-esteem is different from self-efficacy. Self-esteem is a permanent internal feeling while self-efficacy is a feeling that depends upon the performance at hand.
