Question 1: A statement of the topic you have chosen and why this area is of interest to you, in paragraph form.

Answer: Chosen topic is perception is very important in Organizational Behaviour, because “Perception is the process through which the information from outside environment is selected, received, organised and interpreted to make it meaningful to you. This input of meaningful information results in decisions and actions.” (Kashyap, n.d.).

One of the biggest errors of the perception is stereotyping. The accent in this research paper is made on this phenomenon because a stereotype is “a fixed, over generalized belief about a particular group or class of people.” (Cardwell, 1996). A Disadvantage of stereotyping is that such way of perception is ignoring differences between personalities, individuals, the thought about people can  be not correct and sometime can be directly opposite.

The purpose of stereotypes is to make the process of interacting easier.  Each classification has associations, scripts and so on that we use to interpret what they are saying, decide if they are good or bad, and choose how to respond to them or not. (Lippmann, 1922).

According to the problematics of the topic, such issue is really valuable in modern world, because, stereotyping perception leads to discrimination within race, gender, social environment, etc. HR specialists should be professional at their work place and life, so they need to reduce discrimination factor in all its appearance.

Question 2: An explanation of the reason you feel this topic is an important issue in Contemporary Organizational Behaviour, in the Canadian context.

The topic of the stereotyping is one of the most important topics related to the discrimination, especially in Contemporary Organizational Behaviour in Canada., the country where the Human Rights, Equity and Equality is lead principles in the building relations between people. Because of the human nature to make everything rational, stereotyping takes big place within common errors of the perception which leads to the wrongfully analyzation of the environment.

Canada is the multicultural country, where all religions, all cultures are presented. Country with different mix of the views, traditions and habits, so the topic of the stereotyping is very asset. Differentiation of the humans brain complex creates different stereotypes, so it is an asset to develop the stereotyping problematic further and find the “golden middle” with the way of the solvation.

Researching, learning and analysing the publications will improve realising the problem and will help with the further development of the solution how to soften the problem which leads to discrimination and misunderstanding.
