To start off with this paper, I will give a brief definition of organization behavior. Organization behavior typically refers to the study of how people act as individuals as groups with small and large organizations. Having a good organizational behavior model will keep everyone in your company acting properly so that people respect the company. The article that I selected talks about managing diversity in the workplace and different strategies managers can use to elaborate on these structures and strategies. Alexander, Havercome, and Mujutaba (2015) stated that diversity in the modern workplace is not just a reality, but it is also necessary for competitive advantage. When we discuss diversity, what are we referencing? Workplace diversity encompasses race, gender, ethnic group, age, education, background, and more. Patrick and Kumar (2012) stated that diversity management is a process that is envisioned to create and maintain a positive work environment where everyone is valued, can reach their potential, and maximize their contributions to the organization’s goals. In this article they explain that successful organization must be willing to spend resources on managing diversity in the workplace. Diversity issues in the workplace are very crucial and will increase due to cultural differences; this is the reason why many organizations need to focus on inclusion and to look for new ways to be flexible and work together in a diverse workplace.
