Task

1. Select a country of your choice.
2. Select an industry of your choice.
3. Carry out a PEST/PESTLE analysis of the industry’s environment.
4. Write a proposal for your report detailing: how you intend to structure your final report; what the contents will be; a summary of the work you have carried out to date; your initial thoughts, opinions and ideas.
5. Write a final report detailing how the environmental factors that you have identified, and analysed, influence business activity within your chosen industry.

You must include:

• A PEST/PESTLE analysis of your chosen industry’s environment. You must analyse every factor i.e. every element of the PEST/PESTLE analysis. However, you may wish to analyse some factors in greater detail than others. This is acceptable, but if you do this, then you must reason/justify why you have done so.

NB. Do not simply describe the factors; analyse them i.e. say what effects they are having on the industry and demonstrate how these effects influence business activity.

• Your evaluation of the environmental factors. Here you could comment on, for example, both the short-term and long-term effects, or consequences, of these factors and any unexpected impacts that these influences have had on the industry.

• Your recommendations. Here you will state how businesses, within the industry, could capitalise upon, and limit any adverse effects of, the environmental factors that you have analysed and evaluated.

This report must be approximately 1500 words.  Your word count should not be less than 10% of this number nor should it exceed 10% of this number.
