Executive Summary.
BRB Inc. is a multinational corporation (MNC) specialising in lightweight radar technology. Realising the potential for sales to the Israeli military BRB has decided to establish a subsidiary in Israel. The task of recruiting a manager for this new subsidiary has been jointly awarded to the US and European vice presidents of HR, John Conners (US) and Francis O'Leary (Europe). To find the best qualified and most suitable candidate both HR specialists needed to draw up a list of qualifying criteria and weight these according to importance. Both also understood how that the "particular location is an important determinant in matching person to job" (Torrington et al., p.329. 209).
They identified nine main criteria to score the candidates on and gave a weighting to each in accordance with importance. Both men realised there were also some unique issues facing the new manager, one was the ability to work with BRB's CEO and his micro managing, while the second was the unique cultural and institutional knowledge needed to operate in the Israeli military market.
From their analysis of each candidate Conners and O'Leary identified the person they considered best suited and, accompanied by a detailed rationale, choose AN Other.

BRB Inc. An Introduction.
BRB Inc. is a US based MNC with a second headquarters in the UK. It has six US divisions, three South American subsidiaries, while the UK HQ is responsible for European and Asian operations.
