Some considerations to remember, given the different roles of people involved in the San Jose Mine collapse that trapped thirty-three people 700 meters beneath the surface for 69 days are; the potential needs of the families, the needs of the company's employees, and what actions need to be taken to ensure both the families and the employees understand what needed to be done and did not misinterpret the message.

The families of the San Jose miners needed to be informed of the incident in a timely manner with a high degree of compassion to ensure that they understood what had happened and what the company was doing to get their loved ones out of the mine. A representative from the mine should have contacted the families and given updates on the progress of the rescue. Once the families were contacted there needed to be a support group set up to be sure that if the families needed aid, it could be provided. The company needed to inform the family that the miners would receive medical and psychiatric treatment immediately after they were rescued.

Employees at the San Jose Mines needed to know that their fellow miners would be rescued and that the families of the trapped miners would be taken care of. The company needed to show the miners that no cost was too high and that they would do anything to get the out of that mine. By doing so, the company help restore the faith of its employees. Once rescued the employees would need the appropriate medical attention. To put the employees at ease the company would need to launch an investigation to find the cause of the collapse and how to prevent future collapses.

Some actions that needed to be taken by the San Jose Mining Company to help ensure that the families of the miners and all of the mines employees understood what was happening and did not misinterpret the information are. Hold a meeting for the families of the trapped miners
