Introduction.
Case abstract.
This case study is about Vick’s Pizza Corporation. It has recently faced backlash over several fatal accidents that claimed lives and were caused by its truck drivers as a result of speed. Speed however is Vick’s Pizza Corporation main competitive advantage of other pizza delivering services as their slogan goes as “It’s quick at Vick’s”. Their promise is to deliver to its customers within 30 minutes of making the order.
According to many claims in the city it operates, Vick’s Pizza Corporation does not encourage and at the same time does not discourage its driver’s to speed when delivering the pizzas. It also employs drivers under the age of 17.
However, the pizza corporation denies encouraging drivers to drive fast and instead insists on reminding the drivers of the safety driving rules every now and then. The community insists on the adjustment of delivery time in order to reduce the pressure put on drivers to speed and deliver within the corporations promised 30 minutes while the pizza corporation is hesitant to make that adjustment as the senior vice president of marketing insists “sales could be hard it” as the 30 minute guarantee is very important to the corporations customers.
Question 1: Flowchart Vicks’ service delivery system from receipt of the order to delivery of the pizza to the customer.
Vicks pizza administration conveyance framework is principally a speed based conveyance framework. The organization’s fundamental trademark is fast-moving; therefore Vicks Pizza Company's guarantees to convey a pizza in no more than 30 minutes by a telephone call request or cut $3 off the cost of the pizza for failing to convey pizza within the 30 minutes promise. The process is set in a way a client makes an order by telephone to Vicks pizza control office, control office then connects/networks this request to a close-by client outlet. The outlet prepares the pizza and gives it to the delivery man who then conveys the pizza to the client within 30 minutes. In cases where the delivery man/driver fails to convey the pizza to their clients within the allocated minutes, as indicated by the corporation guidelines, $3 are to be cut off the cost.
