The first solution is personality profiles instruments (tools). As examples we can show DISC model and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). These tools help individuals in the team to engage in productive and safe conversations and better acknowledge the diversity of preferences, attitudes and skills and find the ways on how to improve existing relationships. The two main benefits of these tools are: neutrality (no bias) and multi-perspectives.
One of the personality profiles instruments (tools) to overcome absence of trust is the DISC model, which is designed to assist people in gaining two important qualities needed to achieve trust: empathy and insight. The main point is that DISC model allows team members to know one another better. The model includes four components: Dominance (D), Influence (I), Steadiness (S) and Conscientiousness (C). Each component includes three regions in itself. The model and related activities are very complex in nature so, we will just briefly explain how the things work. The exercise is performed so that team members locate themselves in specific segments, and, based on current locations, they have to identify the ways of relocating themselves to higher (better) segments if available. The segments are depicted on DISC Team Map. Each segment covers some specific personality traits and qualities as well as attributes, so that each team member will get a broad picture of his/her current situation and also identify the ways of how to improve it. Based on our own team analysis using DISC model, we have came up with the following suggestions:
