Teen pregnancy is an issue that some of us find hard to deal with it is a happening issue and is not going away it is a matter that we need to take into consideration and offer the most helpful and support that we can. Prenatal Care is very important for these teen’s to receive to help them and their baby be as healthy as possible.
Teen Preganancy is not only a social stigma but it is very dangerous for a teen to become pregnant and a lot of these teens do not realize the dangers they are going to face during the nine month period that they are pregnant. In the United States there is one million teens that become pregnant, and eighty five percent of these pregnancys are not planned. The largest risk that is associated with teen pregnancy is the lack of prenatal care, these teenagers also face psychosocial and mental impacts and this affects the teens and their baby. The unpleasant reality of teen pregnancy does not have to be viewed with such negativity that it receives from our society. The lack of prenatal care is the most dangerous there is several reason’s these teens do not receive the proper prenatal care that is needed for them to have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. I think that the number one reason they do not receive the care they need is due to denial and fear of telling others, and waiting until they are two or three months pregnant to take a pregnancy test. Some teens deny and even hide their pregnancy in fear of what others are going to say, or think of them, so they do not receive the medical care and they do not receive the proper information how to take care of themselves while they are pregnant. () Prenatal care helps not only the teen the health care provider monitor how the pregnancy is going. It also helps detect any health problems before they become serious. Some teenagers may experience some complications such as gestational diabetes or preeclampsia. These issues can be manageable if the teen receives the proper prenatal care.
