The ultimate motivation for Toyota's achievements in the international market rests in its shared values. As well as the set guidelines and viewpoints that oversees the use of its resources. Toyota has suffered mass recalls and a possible impact in national sales, the organizing function of management should be re-evaluated to determine effectiveness and efficiency. Accurately executing the organizational function of management can either create success or shutdown a company if the resources are not properly set in place. Therefore, technology and human resources are crucial in the organizational function of Toyota and its operation.
As society emerges into a technology-savvy lifestyle, consumers are chasing the craze to match their automobiles as well. Not only are automakers searching to create low-cost vehicles, they are also tapping into the technology aspect of persuading consumers. Toyota, an automaker based in Japan is no exception to the technology boom. As one of the leading auto manufacturers in the world, Toyota is a company that evolves and grows with its customers. Whereas competition soars, Toyota has used technology as a major resource in the organizational function in its business over the last years. Furthermore, "it is a philosophy that can be better described as a set of general principles of organizing and managing an enterprise which can help any organization get on a path of positive learning and improvement" (Lander & Liker, 2007, p. 3681).
In terms of technology, it is vital for Toyota to have a clear plan of organizing within management because it determines who to report to as well as who designates positions. Also, this aids in creating automobiles and collaborating with other facilities to make sure everything is functioning properly. This proves beneficial for Toyota because management arranges information using the latest technology, for example, the Internet allows consumers to view their vehicle and price information. Besides, Toyota can benefit from technology as a major organizational resource by allowing their employees to view updates regarding the massive recalls or changes in vehicle models. The employees can intern share information with the public and how to go about handling recalls and new effective safety technology. Additionally, Toyota intends to advance their automotive technology to achieve future objectives in enticing customers as well as captivate employees through human resources to sell the Toyota brand and it products.
