If we take a look at the younger generation and the older generation, you can see that there are many differences. As generations come and go, they each possess individual values, attitudes, and goals that strike them apart from other generations. My generation has received more help from the previous generation than they received when they were my age. People from the previous generation did not get things handed out to them. They had to work hard and struggle to earn a nice life. You will learn the difference between 3 different generations as you continue to read. The Matures, the Baby Boomers, and Generation Z generations.

The mature generation refers to people who were born between 1927 and 1945. The mature generation grew up in conditions complicated by war and economic downturn. From 1929 to 1939 America suffered during an economic crisis known as the Great Depression. The Baby Boomer generation witnessed and participated in some of the greatest social changes in the county’s history during the 1960s and 1970s with the Civil Rights Movement and the Women’s Movement. The baby Boomer generation were born between 1946 and 1964. The term “Baby Boom” is used to Identify a massive increase in births following the World War ll. Generation Z is individuals that were born after 2001. This is the generation that has not lived in recession, war, energy crisis, and climate change leave them in world filled with uncertainties.

My generation is more familiar with the modern technology then my parents’ generation. For example, my mother learnt from me about the Internet. I was the first person who explained my parents what the Internet is and how to use it.  The mature generation was not even introduced to technology they only thing they had was radios. The Boomer generation are those who were not born with technology such as video games or cell phones let alone smartphones. This generation has an uneasy relationship with technology. The individual in this generation did have telephones but not everyone did but for the ones who did have phones they shared a party line. A party line had several people who were on the same line. This generation also had TV’s but not everyone. You could tell who had a television by the antenna on top of the house. Back then televisions were all black and whit and most of the time you only got one channel. They also had radios and record players for music. Record players used vinyl discs which were singles or long players. Generation Z are considered the gneisses of technology they have i-pods, mp3 players, and smartphones. This generation can operate computers and even smart TVs. This generation is teaching their grandparents and parents how to keep up with today’s technology.
