  1. What are the four basic organizational structures?
  • Functional Structure: - In this structure, people with similar skills work together. They all are grouped in organization and lead by one functional manager. Decision making is easy for this structure and all the employees learn from each other as they have same interest.
  • Divisional Structure: - In this structure, the company will organize the group from interdivision to meet customer need. This structure is made to get best output from all divisions
  • Matrix Structure: - This organization type is hybrid of divisional and function structures. It allows benefit of both types of structure. However, the down side of this structure is to share resources between different projects.
  • Project Organization Structure: - This type of structure is modern which is mostly focused on projects. Project managers have highest authority to use resources. In project teams, they have employees with different skill set to complete the projects.

  • Over the years, the Irving business has enhanced and coordinated, bringing the present mixture of seven enterprises: Building Materials, Transportation, Consumer Products, Industrial Equipment, Forestry and Forest Products, Construction Services, Specialty Printing, Retail and Distribution, Shipbuilding and Industrial Marine. Irving Oil has additionally influenced cooperative energies and improvement of specific JDI transport and co-ordinations organizations.
  • Current business processes are result of different factors. In early 19th century, an ineffectively created business environment and foundation brought the need to make missing important chain components. Moreover, grip over the value chain allowed JDI to maintain high quality of their items, to manage and handle inadequate and costly distributions and it allowed JDI to utilize their assets effectively. At starting of the organization, JDI's opponent were divided and insignificant in New Brunswick, it helps the company to have advantage over their opponents. The organization increased furthermore into enterprises. Transport is best example of this which boosted their power in market.
