1. Introduction
The world, in the twenty-first century has become a global village. Organizations, however small or large they may be are not alien to this change. Adding to this is the growth of service sector and foreign investments in India. This growth resulted in the need of an organization wherein people at different places (sometimes across continents) work together on the same project. This is what resulted in the birth of networked organizations.
Rapid improvement in technologies helped these organizations to a very large extent. People now, irrespective of the geographical distances between them can interact normally. The advent of new communication technologies such as teleconferencing, video conferencing, telepresence etc. have helped these organizations to work as they want. A networked organization is essentially a by-product of computerization of business. The internet has facilitated exchange of data among places thousands of miles apart.
