Executive summary

The work of Human resource department comprises of coordinating the work of employees as so that it becomes easy to work with employers as well as employees. The recruitment of new staff is also done by HR department whenever required.While making recruitment it is required by HR department to follow proper recruitment, selection & retention procedures. Dixon Group is a co. who wants to assess their own performance in handling leadership, management & administrative problems. HR director has assigned me a task to assess my expertise in recruitment, selection & retention procedure. I, being the HR assistant of Dixon group, submit a report assessing my own expertise & contribution towards recruitment & selection process & ways to improve them and also providing ways for exercising leadership skills & motivating employees to work towards achievement of organizational goals.

Using recruitment, selection, and retention procedure

The success of the organization is largely dependent upon Human resource & it is very necessary that labor force should be skilled, innovative, and creative& committed towards success of the organization. In order to get efficient labor force it is necessary that the recruitment, selection & retention process should be proper so that skilled, innovative & creative personnel can be appointed which can contribute towards success of organization. Proper documentation is required whenever a new staff is recruited & all statutory rules & regulations are also required to be followed. Human resource department is responsible for efficient recruitment, selection & retention procedure in every organization & also for preparing documentation related to such process while complying with various rules & regulations.(Dwayne, 2008)

In this report, I shall discuss the documentation need for selection & recruitment process of new staff of organization, the impact of legal regulatory & ethical consideration on recruitment & selection process, the procedure of taking part in selection process & our own contribution in selection process of DIXON GROUPCompany.

Lo1.1 Documentation to select and recruit a new member of staff

In order to recruit new employees the HR department of DIXON GROUP co needs to prepare following documentation:

  1. Approval of recruitment

Recruitment of new staff should be properly approved by appropriate authority. The department concerned in which new staff is required to be recruited will send a draft explaining properly the description of the position, required skills & education qualification for the post to be filled. The proper authority will approve the draft sent by concerned department ofDIXON GROUP co & then it will be further sent to HR department for making recruitment.(Pankl, 2010)The recruitment process shall not begin until the approval for the same is received from the appropriate authority. The electronic copy of draft description & advertisement shall also form part of approval.
