In checkers all the pieces move in the same way while in chess each piece moves in a different way. Great Managers play chess as they need to know how each individual work and reach their goal they need to connect with individuals to know and recognize their strengths and unique role of each person on the team and how to make them move to win.
To Become a Grand Master Manager plenty of things can be done. It is important to make a properly balanced combination of the best employees in the company in your working team and to make sure to recruit employees who are dedicated to getting the job done and training them and help them to succeed as their success means the manager success
Making sure that employees are always working where they are most likely to succeed is an important thing to be done as to motivate them and make them happy with their work
Always monitor the employees performance and if they are working below their normal performance level, there may be a problem with the team dynamic. In that case, talk to your employees one-on-one as in groups it is unlikely that someone will speak out if confronted. Check out if they are happy working where they are and if they have any problems with other employees.
It is important to give credit and to take blame and share them with the employees regardless of the circumstances.
Global organizations face many challenges one of them is the diversity inside and outside the organization. Also interdependence of the companies raise difficult challenges as nowadays everything is related to everything else and the impact of an action done are felt more rapidly than before.
Today business is characterized by much information with less clarity on how to interpret this information and the level of certainty of this information is a challenge to managers.
