Audience and genre

For each of my essays there is a different tone and a different audience that is spoken to. In my ad analysis, A Bratty Girl Already targeted the general audience, mainly people who have children or are associated with young children, especially young girls. With my ad analysis, I used evidence from the website of the BRATZ dolls to show that there can be a both a negative and positive influence to these young girls, but mostly a negative one. I used a tone of bold, understanding knowledge of these influential dolls. In my resume and job letter, I targeted a specific audience such as a general manager of a store. The object of a resume and a job letter is to persuade one with you talents, goals and achievements. I have used only information that would bring a positive thought to me. For my narrative essay, Do you Believe, even though it was a personal experience, I incorporated a tone and used specific details and sensory images for the audience to be able to feel what I felt. In general, for all of my essays I tried to incorporate specific tone to prove the point the essay is intended to present.

Each time an essay was assigned, I used to always be nervous of the fact if my point, feelings or emotions would be shown through my writings. Throughout this semester I’ve learned to be considerate of a relationship between the actual story and how to describe it by using different techniques such as imagery or using metaphors. The narrative essay really allowed me to put that sensory imagery to effect. I was highly satisfied of the product of my essay because how detailed I made the experience, how I was able to write the feeling that I had at the moment in time. The first in class essay that we wrote, was too a narrative of an actual event occurring into my life. Re-reading it I was not as detailed as I was in my second narrative essay and you can clearly see the growth between the two. So one can
