How to Settle a Dispute between Two Friends
Friendship is like a flower, which needs time and nutrition to grow, then blossom, and be fragrant. However, during its life, it's hard to avoid getting hurt as well as friendship. When friends meet some divergent opinion or misunderstanding, they may quarrel with each other. So, as their friend, how can you settle their dispute? There are three steps to deal with.
First of all, let them calm down. Generally speaking, people may have no mood to reconsider the dispute after quarreling. As their friend, people should separate them and let them calm down.
Secondly, have a talk with them one by one, and let them make a transposition consideration. By doing this, people can know what they are thinking about the dispute and whether they are wrong. Actually, no one can always be right. They should think in a rational way.
After giving them time for considering individually, it's time to make an appointment to communication with each other. A third party can help conduct the conversation, because you can analysis this problem by looking at both. Geoffrey Chaucer said before, "Friend friendly friendship, if persistent, must be mutual humility." Though one side could be wrong, the other one should learn to forgive and make self-examination. Through this way, the two parts may understand each other and solve the problem.
