Living alone vs Living with family
Controlling Idea 1
First of all,
people who live alone enjoy more freedom than those who live with their families. When you are alone, you can do whatever you want without thinking about your parents’ permission. For example, you can go out overnight and enjoy some time with your friends.
In contrast
, when you live with your family, you cannot do that or you have to ask them for permission.
Controlling Idea 2
Another difference is
about financial and emotional support.
Unlike
living with family, you have to meet your own expenses if you're living alone. You have to pay for electricity, telephone and other bills. Therefore, you may take lots of responsibilities in everyday life.
In contrast
, when you share your life with your family, you don't need to worry about these issues as your parents are responsible for them. Also,
while
people who live alone feel
more depressed
and lonely especially in hard times, those who live with their families overcome such difficulties more easily. This is because their family are ready to share these difficulties and find solutions for them.
Controlling Idea 3
The last difference between living alone and and living with family is sharing the household chores. Living alone causes you to spend most of your time doing the housework such as doing the laundry, the dishes, ironing etc. These household chores take a lot of time especially if you are working or studying. When you come home after a long day, you have to deal with these chores as you are the only person who has to do them. However, although you still have to do some housework even if you live with your family, you have a chance to share them with other family members. For example, as your mother tends to do most of the house work, the floor is always clean, the rooms are tidy and the dishes are done most of the time. Therefore, sometimes all you have to do is helping your mother.
Living alone or living with family has its own advantages and disadvantages. Besides some similarities, they are different from each other in many ways such as freedom, financ,al and emotional support and sharing household chores.
Opening
Closing
All in all, living alone and living with family differ from each other in terms of being free, having financial and emotional support and sharing the housework.
