Love is possibly one of the strongest, most addictive drugs known because there is no addiction that consumes the mind, body and soul like love does. Craving, needing and wanting someone around you can be one of the best feelings a person can experience, but it can also be one of the most terrifying and depressing feelings. Like any other addiction, the user relies on the substance for these feelings of elation, but that deep sense of reliance often results in disappointment. When you are stuck in a relationship with an addiction for someone who does not appreciate you, or breaks your heart, you are going to feel those depressed feelings of withdrawal. In the first line, Perri explains that "it took so long just to feel right" after breaking up with that person. In this brief statement she explains that in every break up, you need time for yourself to move on and feel normal again. I understand this because when I finally realized it was time for me to move on, I was in a rut. I did not know how to move on and I was depressed for a long time. Perri sorrowfully states that she wishes she "had missed the first time that we kissed." In other words, she wishes it had never happened so she wouldn't have to go through all the pain she is experiencing now. She regrets
