Methods of studying for a final exam
A Final exam is conducted to examine how much we have learnt for the whole term. It commonly is set to test students’ ability. The final exam is actually is the most difficult for the students. If we don’t have good preparation, we will be nervous and cannot do well in the exam. However, good preparation doesn’t mention that we will prepare ourselves a day or a week before the exam is coming. It should be considered to prepare from the beginning until the end of the term or academic year. There are several points that we should develop as the methods of studying for final exam. First, it is reviewing the vocabulary blanks. To improve vocabulary, we should note down the new vocabulary that we have learnt everyday with the explanations or definitions of English and Khmer translation because we sometimes do not understand the meaning of the word exactly. The word list should be included with the examples, synonyms and antonyms. Equally important, we also review the words everyday and try to remember the definitions. We, moreover, should make use of them in our writing and daily conversation. Second, it is reviewing and practicing grammar exercises. The Grammar question section is the top scores in the exam question. In order to getting the high score in grammar, we should review the lessons and do all the exercises in the text books or work books. Also, we should download the grammar applications and install them in our phone to do more practice instead of wasting time to play games. Grammar is also the part of remembering. Particularly, we must remember all certain verbs that are followed by Infinitive or Gerund. Third, it is to improve reading techniques. We should read all the lessons and do all the exercises in the text book that we are learning. We have to learn to understand the meaning in different contexts.
