1 - To find a book, enter the author surname and a word or two from the title into the 'Type word or phrase' box and select 'Go'
2- When you see the book you want, select 'Locations' at the right of the page to find out more.
3 - The next pages will show all the copies of the book and information about where to find it. If it says 'on shelf', the book is in the Library. If there is a date under Due Date e.g. 7/06/12, it means the book has been borrowed by another user and will be due back in the Library on that date.
4 - When you find something you want to borrow, write down the Library (which library it is in, ie. E-books
Edinburgh Napier has a wide collection of e-books you can read online. Search for these using the Library Catalogue.
You will know you have found an e-book when you see the word 'online' at the right-hand side next to a book. Click on 'online to be taken through to the book.
Finding journal articles
Most of our journals are available online through databases.
Journal article details on a reading list or in another article will look something like this (if the reference includes a volume number and page numbers, it is very likely to be a journal article):
Kotter, J., (2008). Sense of Urgency, Leadership Excellence. 25 (3), p. 10.
Search using the journal title (in the example above, Leadership Excellence). Don’t search using the author name or title of a journal article.
