The situational video preparation definitely helped develop my own qualities. To start off, my conceptual and management skills were greatly leaped by boosting efficiency. Aside from handling disturbances and settling conflicts between teammates, through allocating job duties, giving directions, pushing work progress, checking qualities, I found myself having a rough idea of how a leader should be, in which I began to have these shades on me as a leader. Besides, my interpersonal skills improved massively. By joint decision making, cooperation and exchange of ideas, I could now communicate with the others at ease. Working as a group led higher quality to the project as well. Brainstorming brought more perspectives, ideas and solutions, and thus broadened my horizons, which in turns perfected the project in various ways. The group project preparation tied my groupmates and I closer. We committed, inspired, and motivated each other. We compensated for the mistakes others had made. Cohesion and collective work spirit were created.
The mini-presentation also provided me a great opportunity to share my ideas with my fellow classmates. It was a fruitful experience as it not only helped developed my self-confidence, but also strengthened my presentation skills. Besides, the IPA practices and quizzes facilitated me a better understanding on oral English. I acquired the basic knowledge of the pronunciation of different words, such as stress in words.
To conclude, this course provides me valuable opportunities to enrich my endowments. I got great improvement on my oral presentation, as well as conflict management and pronunciation techniques.
