Does the world need a film like Shakespeare in Love?
Everyone knows a form of love. Everyone has experienced love.
And therefore we also know the feeling of how love can control our emotions and actions, so much so that we cannot tell the difference between right and wrong, or think rationally. Love can be hard and love can be easy. We can’t just control who we fall in love with, sometimes it can be with people we haven’t even talked to yet, but we just feel the rush in our stomachs. Just like in the tragedy “Romeo and Juliet”.
”Shakespeare In Love” and the play “Romeo and Juliet” are both a
romantic comedy. The film and the play deals with the issue of love between a man and awoman from different social classes.
They both come from different families, and have their own background. Juliet comes from the Capulets, and Romeo is a Montague. In the film William is just a low born commoner, who wrote plays for the city's theater. And Viola is a noble woman who lives a life of wealth and plenty.
Romeo and Juliet is a theater play, written by William Shakespeare.
It is about two young lovers whose deaths ultimately unite their warring families, the Capulets and the Montague. Romeo and Juliet lives secretly in love, from the first day that they met. Romeo just felt a rush in his stomach from the very first moment he saw her. Love at first sight if you will.
After the play “Romeo and Juliet” was written and published, a movie “Shakespeare in love”, came out as a background story for why “Romeo and Juliet” was called that, and why it was written. It was however, just a theory, just a fictional story.
In that film, Romeo is actually William Shakespeare and Juliet is actually Viola. In “Shakespeare in love” we see the film from two angles, we see the film through the eyess of Shakespeare and Viola who loves eachother in secret. And then we see the same love they show in the play “Romeo and Juliet”. The play “Romeo and Juliet” show seems like it is based on Shakespeare’s and Viola’s lovestory.
“Shakespeare in love” really provides a very good story of how the play “Romeo and Juliet” could have been made, though it is not a true story. After seeing Shakespeare in love it was like being given a broader understanding of Williams piece of “Romeo and Juliet”. It was like getting behind the scenes, though it's not a real basis for why “Romeo and Juliet” was written, so you could, in fact, still just imagine the world as William and Viola lived in, even to this day.
