My Favorite Place In The World
Any one who knows me would tell you that I love Disney. Every since I was a little girl I have been a big fan of Mickey Mouse and all of his friends. When I was five years old I received a Mickey Mouse watch for my birthday and from that moment on I was hooked every since. I am now thirty-six years old and I am a bigger fan now than I was when I was a child. My first trip to Disney World was the summer of 1989. This was a trip of a lifetime for my family and. I.
My parents knew my love for Disney and as an eighth grade graduation present I was surprised with a trip to Disney World. On June 21, 1989, my parents and I packed up the car and headed to sunny Orland Florida from the windy city Chicago Illinois. The drive took a little over twenty-four hours we stopped half way and spent the night at a hotel. My father was a truck driver by trade so he handled the drive like a pro. He did blink an eye. I would have never thought he drove for twenty-four hours if I had not seen it for myself. This was the longest ride I had been on in my life. My parents tried to keep me occupied however, I had one thing on my mind and that was getting to Disney World. It was pure torture having such a long drive to get there however; it was well worth the wait.
On the first day we visited The Magic Kingdom. Main Street USA is the first area you see as you are walking into The Magic Kingdom and the last thing you see as you are leaving the park. On Main Street USA you can shop, dine, or just soak up the image Disney has to offer. There was so much to do in one day we did not even know where to start. We saw many Disney characters, such as Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and more. We ate way too much good food like hot dogs, pizza, ice cream, and funnel cakes. My family and I rode on rides like the Space Mountain and Splash Mountain. I have to say my favorite attraction is the Small World. It is simply timeless and would never go out of style. Finally, it was time for the laser light show. All of the Disney Charters participated in a parade through the streets as the closing ceremony for that day begun.
