This film is timely and appropriate given the situation of the hunger game. The film told people why they should be join the game and encourage people to join. The images shown in this propagandist film are dark, heavy, and serious. These images reflect the harsh reality of Panem. The rulers control the country and make rules to maintain their power. Even though through cannibalism action to make people obey rulers.
At the beginning of the movie, I have seen some types of love between people. It is a hunger world. But the heroine’s friend share his only bread with her. Hunger game is a cruel game. It means bloodiness and death. But the heroine replaced her sister to join the game. Even though this is a dystopian world, there some love light is still shining.
From my view, this movie is talking about humanity. Part of people feels scared about hunger game, however other people enjoy it. Obviously, the people of District 12 don’t like this murder game. But in the capital, everyone is cheering. Talk show’s host use exaggerated expression to express their joy. They said ”happy hunger game”. It is probable that the desire of the audience stimulates the cruel games. If most of them are kind, no one support this game, then there is no hunger game. The hunger game is just a game, nobody is really care a game. The ruler and audience don’t think the player is the people. This game is just a tool to help the ruler to maintain control. The purpose of the game is to make people forget to revolt and lose humanity.
