What is a Hero? Is Santiago a Hero?
What is a hero? This is a question that has baffled mankind for ages, because there are many, many ways to answer this perplexing riddle. Heroes have a high amount of great qualities that define themselves, but the qualities that are shown in plain sight do not truly make that specific person a hero.
Heroes are always thought of as physically strong or very courageous, but the qualities that count most are the ones that come from deep inside the soul, such as love, pride, and wisdom, just to name a few of many characteristics that truly make a hero, a hero. A hero must love others in order to do good. Love causes people to do things that are extremely passionate. Love for others makes people put themselves in danger to protect others from harm, and when someone truly loves you, you become their hero. Having pride in one's actions drives people to do things just to feel great about one's self, but it can also have a positive affect on other's lives, such as someone donating millions of dollars to charity to show off to friends, but in the end, that charity will receive money to help the poor, and that person will be perceived as a hero, which in turn will ultimately change their intentions to good intentions. Wisdom is also an important trait for a hero to have. How can you represent people as a whole, if you have not experienced what others have? To be a hero you must have understanding so you can discern what to do in a situation that calls for your wisdom, where all odds are against you.
Not many people possess all of these outstanding and important qualities at one point in their life, but the persons that do are usually blessed enough to know one day that they will be someone’s hero, whether it be one person or millions of
