I’ve honestly have never been one to appreciate art, or to even think about what art even is. That was until I joined the drill team at a local sister high school. I got into dancing and the more I knew about it, I began to fall in love with the art of dance, there’s just so many combinations, and different types of techniques that dancers shouldn’t even be able to do. I even found out more about myself when I dance. Such as, being flexible, being able to dance for 5 minutes straight and even that I really want to continue my education in dance. Exactly how artist use their talent for painting to express their feelings, I use my talent to dance to express my emotions, for instance, when I’m sad I dance either contemporary or lyrical, when I’m happy I dance to an upbeat song and do hip pop or kick routine, and of course when I mad or angry I’ll dance to hip pop, but just really stumpy.
As I said before I’ve never been one to appreciate art, or anything having to do with it, until I got into dance. And although I know I have such great potential for it, I’m still learning what more I could do, some of the people I look up to are the Kilgore
College Rantgerettes, and ruby tear.
The Rangerettes because their kick are so high and hit their face. My kicks are high also but not like that. Ruby Tear, because she’s such a good ballerina and her flexibility and stiffness is so out of this world.
