I had an Egyptian exhibit at The Museum of Man on November 7. There was not much things to see in the museum, so the exhibit took me about 45 minutes. I walked through the gateway, the first thing I saw was a bulletin board with described ancient Egypt. Then I saw a board which said what is a mummy? Opposite to the board was a glass case which contained two mummies from 1332 B.C. When I went to the right side of the room, I saw another board that talked about real mummies, and two basic types of mummies. I also saw a Lemon Grove Mummy in a glass case next to the board. Then I walked to the left side of the room and saw some mummy masks, mummy coffins, and some usual object of ancient Egyptian.
The things that I saw during Egyptian exhibit are not totally strange to me because I had seen some of them on TV such as mummy masks, mummy coffins, and ancient Egyptians objects. However, the exhibit was still interesting because I had learned more about mummy and ancient Egypt. For example, I was a bit scared when I saw Peruvian Child Mummies. It was small and curled up. Before the exhibit, I only saw mummy coffins on TV, and they looked beautiful, so I was surprised when I saw the real mummies. I also astonished about unwrapping mummy information. I knew all the mummies were wrapped but I did not know the real reason. I did not think the wrapping was the most important thing for mummy. I thought the mummy was protected because ancient Egyptian had taken out their organs, and the wrap just made the mummies look more beautiful. Overall, I learn a lot of new information from the exhibit. It was great.
