The Archaemenid Empire, also known as the first Persian Empire, stood from 550-330
BCE. It was an Iranian Empire that eventually stretched its rule over majority of the ancient
world. During its time this civilization achieved a great number of accomplishments. In terms of
political standings, this civilization was able to completely evolve their government in a very short
amount of time. Moving from a tribal feudalism to a central government that is strong enough to
govern such a large number of citizens it not an easy task. They allowed local governments and
allowed people to keep customs, religions and traditions which was very unlike most of their
time. Many advances in law were also made to establish control in the empire. Huge moved
were made in cultural terms in fields like art and architecture. Using the knowledge of those who
came before them and their advanced technology they were able to construct massive
structures. They were among the first to use what is known as a two piece base method.
Sculptures were brought in to create elaborate pieces to represent the empire. They begin to
use gold and jewel ancients in their pieces. This civilization also made advances in banking
systems such as loans, standing currency, credit, and interest rates.
The Mauryan Civilization was a huge power during its time in 321 to 185 BC. It was
