A feeling is defined as an emotional sate or reaction. I believe animals, just as people, have emotions . They, too, feel happiness, playful, distress and fear along with sadness and anger. In fact they are full with emotion that is expressed not through words, but by actions and voices. A prime example is my Short-domestic hair feline, Missy. When annoyed or angry, she wiggles her tail vigorously. When she feels threatened, she hisses and when sad, she folds her ears back and expresses it by letting out a cry as if it were a human baby crying. When she feels happy, content, and joyus she lies down and purrs. It is through similar actions and behavior that all animals express their emotions. If one interacts with animals on a regular basis, he or she would find evidence for emotions in animals. Looking at their tails, ears, and interaction with human, one can sense these emotions in them. Take for instance a dog, many dogs serve as the eyes for their blind owners. Like all other dogs, these dogs particularly protect the well being of their owners. When dogs feel threated or try to defend their owner, they growl. Similarly, when a dog feels sad, it whimpers and whines. The most obvious example of emotions amongst animals is fear, particularly farm and wild animals. Many animals are preyed on, and in attempt to live long, these prey animals live in fear of protecting themselves from predators.
